Pair Amethyst Vases

    Slightly different in form and one is a bit taller. Also, the bases are different, one is ground, the other not.
    Any idea of the origin and age? I feel like Asian imports?
    And what's with the "L's" ?

    Can't help you on maker, but agree with your opinion on origin.
    IMHO they are identical, just blown and annealed slightly different. L forward or backwoods meant as a design.

    They were blown in a mold so are not they supposed to be quite the same?

    Looks like both gases have been ground to make the vases sit flat and straight

    The "L's" look like pieces of gold leaf cut to shape. If you turn one vase, will it fit into the curve of the other? Like spooning.

    Only one base is ground.
    They don't spoon perfectly.

    They look like they're doing a wiggle dance.:p

    And, they remind me of Michael Lambert pottery and would make a nice 'go-with', I think.
