    Hoping maybe you could help me with this. Trying to figure it out, everything online is so confusing I think at some point someone turned it into a sport model. But it was almost done to good to have been altered. Any opinions on it ? TIA

    Back in the 50s and 60s everyone and his dog were converting cheaply available ex-military rifles to sporting use. 'Guns and Ammo' was full of adverts for almost any conceivable military rifle, and kits to convert them. The Parker Hale sights were a common product and nothing to do with the original rifle.
    There were also many companies offer ready 'sporterized' weapons.
    This one may originate from that period as a conversion, I cannot say how much earlier as the original weapon.
