Makanudo There is no such thing as simple.Simple is hard.

It is 9x4" and I am not sure about the style and age.

    Hi,
I have a French Art Deco ashtray with the same flying Pegasus on it. It was silver plated with copper base. It is just marked France. I think it is a smoking item not for writing. JMHO. It holds cigarettes and matches and an ashtray. So a smoke stand not for writing.

    Thanks so much.

It's not a desk-set or inkstand, that's for sure. I agree, it's probably for smoking.
