Found these 2 masterpieces recently-the 'Bugattis of early 20th century Industrial Art'. These were produced by 'The Northwestern Expanded Metal Co., Chicago', circa-1919 to 1930. Sizes- 12" and 14 1/2" sizes.
Wonderful interior decor piece-a nice counterpoint to your wall of original Vermeers or as a chic bucket hat.

Not a bad idea Davey-you know I haven't seen if they're still in business ?
My cans are early examples-falling somewhere in the equivalent of the 'Neolithic-Early Bronze Age' period of Industrial 20th century era of 'Trashology'.
Could this pair actually be prototypes in the field of extruded mesh steel trash receptacle science ?
Only thorough forensic archaeology will give us the answers we need.

Erm... the real Bugattis were the Bugattis of early 20th century Industrial Art.;) The Bugatti family were extremely talented, and though these waste paper baskets are useful, they can't hold a candle to even the worst design by any of the Bugattis.:smug::playful:

Sad yet true, no Bugatti marque on the trashcans. But well-designed utilitarian junk has it's place.

These used to bring good money but reproductions have ruined the market. The originals are much heavier and better made. I pick them up when I can but don't see them too often. Good spy on your part.
