Pendant possibly lapis help

I purchased this years ago, I think maybe it’s from the 1920s, the gold is unmarked. Possibly lapis, any ideas? Thanks

Hi and welcome! You say the gold is unmarked, have you had it tested? Are you sure it's gold?

 

Yes, it is lapis lazuli, and a beauty. During the Art Deco period stones like this were often carved in China and mounted in the West. The settings were generally gold because gold and lapis blue is such a perfect combination.

 

Second vote for Chinese carving. Did you look inside of the bail for a mark? They're sometimes hiding. One way to tell this is old - little if any pyrite in the lapis. It wasn't admired at times in the past, and solid blue was desirable.
