How old is this mirror and how is the glass looking new?

From my research this mirror appears to be late 19th century to very early 20th century.
The backing paper looks like it has quite a bit of age on it but then the glass seems like it's in pretty good condition I can't see any black spots or anything like that.
So I'm finding it hard to reconcile those two aspects.
What do you think.

 

A small amount of sticker glue on the centre of the mirror other than that I can't see any age or damage to the glass

 

To me it looks like the product of a home decor company, intended to look antique, but maybe 60s or later. We'll see what others say.

Well I did not pay a lot so I guess that is some consolation. The amount I paid would be no more than the amount required to purchase a new one that looked mostly-convincingly antique - if such a thing were for sale.

I do like to have real antiques though. That is my goal.

I'm far from an expert, so it's quite possible that one of our more knowledgeable members ( @Ghopper1924 @verybrad ) will have a different idea. However, I have seen my share of these small wall decorations over the years, & that's the sense I have here. There is the mark of a sticker on the back that may once have told the maker.

 

I think experience counts for a lot. If you have seen that style/finish before.

I think they did a good job of aging it though. Like the back looks to me like how things look from around the 40s or earlier. Has enough distressing/patina/stains etc to look quite convincing.

The large one is outside the scope of my experience. The sort of things I'm thinking of are fairly small, usually well made (at least the ones that survive), little mirrors like yours, cameos in shadowboxes, painted miniature copies of portraits of famous beauties by famous artists or of works by Raphael, in faux ivory frames. Sometimes they are backed with paper that appears to be a page taken from an old Latin religious text, sometimes quite classy looking brocade fabric. I remember distressed looking frames were popular in the 60's, probably later too, maybe a reaction to the modernism of the 50s.
