Basket #3 Small/Medium Buttocks

    About 5.5 x 6.5 inches and 5.5 inches tall. Nice and tight despite a fair amount of loss where the handle meets the top rim on both sides. Oak splint / split oak? Any idea of the region it is from?

    Appalachian Mellon basket...
    or.......NC, mid Atlantic, New England.... buttocks basket...

    folks place them in a number of regions.........

    the missing Gods Eye .... where the loss is.....is a major detractor for this late 1800's American basket...
