I found a Copeland Spode Tea Trivet in the Rosalie pattern a while ago and now want to list on Ebay. When I first found it, the internet said that the tea trivets are very scarce and the last one that sold cost $55. There was no further information provided.

Now when I try to find it again, Mr. Google says that Spode didn't offer a Tea Trivet with Rosalie but they kind of CYA'd it by saying no tea trivet with the Rosalie contemporary line. But didn't say anything about there maybe being earlier versions.

In looking at this tea trivet, it just doesn't have the look of a very old earthenware dish. Right now I'm inclined to just list it and not say too much about it other than maker and pattern name. But first, I thought I would check here and see if anyone knows what's up with this tea trivet. It measures 5 3/4" in diameter. TYIA.

Thanks! That's the reference I found when I first looked for it, but I couldn't find it again today. That one is very crazed while mine is not. Mine looks newer. I was just wondering if there was more than one issuance of this pattern, one old and one more contemporary. I think I'm getting myself wrapped around the axle and should just go ahead and sell it for what it brought way back when. Thanks so much for finding this reference for me.

Google AI: • The Pattern Timeline: The Rosalie pattern (#S1878) was a discontinued mid-century line produced by Copeland Spode between 1954 and 1969.
    • The Impressed Date Mark: Spode used an impressed stamp system on its earthenware bodies between 1870 and 1963 to lock down the exact month and year of production. If you look closely at the uninked, impressed marks stamped directly into the clay on the upper right, you can see 12 over 57 (with a small letter D stamped next to or below it).

    So, 1957

Google must have had something else in mind when I looked. I got nothing when I asked about the marks other than "do you want to buy this book on the marks". I really couldn't make out much of anything with the numbers. So thank you so much! I just incorporated that info into my pending listing. In all my research, I was able to view a lot of this pattern, it's really pretty and the shapes are so nice.
