IMG_8050.jpeg IMG_8054.jpeg IMG_8052.jpeg IMG_8038.jpeg IMG_8053.jpeg Hi all, a Chinese brush pot (bitong) with a motif of cranes and lotus flowers. What is this
made of,looks like glass to me? Standing 14cm tall. Was less than a $1. Has some paint residue. Please tell me what you think.

    From google:

Made of yellow resin, amber-colored composite, or faux-stone (often marketed as yellow amber or chicken-oil yellow resin/glass).

The four Chinese characters written on the base translates to the phrase: "May the pine and crane extend your years." It is a classic Chinese auspicious idiom used to express wishes for longevity, health, and a long life.

Thanks for any help and keep well

It looks like resin to me.
Is it cold like glass? Resin can be cold, but not as cold as glass, afaik.

Hi AJ,thank you for reply. If you think it’s resin then it must be. It feels a bit cold to me (but probably cold enough) and it sounded like glass to me when tapped. I tried to figure it out but I couldn’t decide. So not as good a buy as I thought. Thanks again
