Where was this sideboard made?

Initially to me the sideboard felt Asian but it's oak.
It's very cobbled together but done at the same time. Ie some panels are in sections where they used a bit of timber here and a bit of timber they found here.
There's a couple of minor repairs but most of it is from the same age but it's a bit here and a bit there all sort of tacked on with the tacks with verdigree.
Along the rim at the top lid it has honest wear.
    Inside it's quite rough.
    Thanks

Looks like France (Brittany), late 19th Century.

I do think European and Brittany is probably correct. I think maybe a bit older than late 19th century. More early to mid 19th century based on irregular saw marks and wear/repairs.

It doesn't look like any of the Breton sideboards or cabinets I've seen (I have a collection of Breton miniatures). It doesn't have the typical Breton details like the rows of small spindles and the spindle wheels like small ship's wheels, or the quarter spindle wheels. Also no flush 'sun wheels'.

And with flush or flat 'sun wheels':

Could it be English? The half moon carving round the top and the arches with the flowers in pots look a bit like English Jacobean stuff.

I found this English chest which has similar carving to your sideboard, detail photo:

More photos on the Dutch site:

    Seller says 17th century English.

This one is even more similar to yours, including the flowerpots in arches:

They only say 1950s - 60s, which I find hard to believe. No other info, the site is for a prop rental company in Czechoslovakia, so they aren't furniture experts.
