Just wondering if the group has any opinions on Matt Wood Indian Art’s $20 identification and appraisal service. Do they provide helpful information or, as is the case with some online appraisers, simply tell the customer what they want to hear?

I think at that price it's advertising and maybe getting folks to show them things that they might wish to buy , themselves.....

I think you’re probably correct. They DO ask if you’re interested in selling the item being appraised.

I interacted with them a couple times and the identification was pretty good but 'shallow'--- ie, not some in-depth research thing, and they did offer to but but at about 1/3 the retail price.
