    When I see anything with "mold" in the title I assume it was originally sold as a "buy it unfinished and decorate it at home" type kit.

    It's a slip-cast piece, most likely from a local ceramics shop - from the look, would guess dating somewhere around the 1980s. Might have been glazed by someone at the shop and offered for sale, or an amateur could come in, buy the greenware or bisque piece, choose their glaze and apply it, then fire it at the shop, with the initials belonging to whoever glazed it...
