Is this a 40s brooch?

    I can’t figure what decade this plastic brooch is from or maybe is it a modern reproduction? Some type of plastic, but doesn’t seem like quite like celluloid.
    Any advice please? It is 1inch and a quarter diameter. Thanks.

    New here but If I were to guess I'd say 50's or 60's celluloid brooch. Compare the pin hinge and safety clasp with others from that time...

    I agree with 50s-60s celluloid. If it is very light weight it is a kind of celluloid called Featherlight, it is usually matte in finish and often has that pastel coloring :)

    Thanks, I was just hoping it was 40s as I have a friend who loves the era. I shall have to return to the hoard to find something else for her.

    It is quite light, has a chalky look to it I suppose because of the pale colours. Thank you.
