Hi folks! Got this large, 2 1/2 pound paperweight or bookend. Have scoured the web for days trying to find one just like it. Along the way, I have come upon many possible makers, but nothing conclusive (Blenko, Orrefors, Pukeburg (berg), Ittalia). Other items in this lot we got were from Sweden, so was leaning towards that or Finland. BUT, cannot find it anywhere and the label/or price sticker on the back is gone (residue shown in pic #3). 5 3/4" length x 2 1/4" width x 5" height. Any ideas out there?

Also, how would you describe the texture on it?

There is one on Ebay right now (Maker unknown)

I am leaning towards Scandinavian myself

I would not try to describe the texture on it other than to just say it is "textured" glass. I do not think this is Orrefors.

    I agree not Orrefors.
I found a couple listed as Kosta Boda
    Skruf is another to investigate

it has an Iitala look to me. They also tend to label, rather than marking the glass. Jorma Vennola did birds for them, and yours looks like a giant one. Google on his name and TIU eggcup, you'll see what I mean.

OK, then, Orrefors is out. Textured is a good word for it, thanks!

It may be identical, but the seller is only guessing. ;)

Yeah, I hate to give something up until I have an ID for sure...looking for this item, I found Lisa Larson co-designed some of the Kosta zoo series (though I do not see mine anywhere). Interesting 'cause this lot had many of Larson's figures.

Also found this along the way, interesting!

I actually found it doing a Google search for "Cockerel"

I checked everyone's ideas, but still not sure. I did read that Kosta Boda also did a Farm Series, back in the 70s, but I have not found any Chicken versions that match mine.

One other thought. I've a Hadeland cat that has very similar embossing and facial features.

Sorry to revive this thread but I have the same paperweight and came across this page while searching. The only difference is that mine is smaller - 2 5/8" long and 2 5/8" tall. It's about 1 1/4" thick. Just thought I would that size to this record.
