Can anyone tell me what these are?!

Very similar decoration to Canal Ware. We used to go on canal boat holidays as a child and this style of trinket were in every canal side gift shop in the 70/80s

 

I think these might be 1960s Japanese or Chinese. Very pretty,do they look to be hand painted or decals ?

Living in the US, I had never even heard of canal ware (or barge ware)! I'll bet it was a great "souvenir" for kids on family trips - and easy to carry home.

It seems as if there's lots of it out there. Most sellers seem to call it brass or brass-plated, and many say it's hand painted, although I personally don't have a clue...

Good find!! I learnt something too and I'm in the UK

 

A misspent youth on a canal boat taught me something I suppose!. I think most are hand painted as it's a traditional style of decoration. Often at the back of the gift shop would be someone with a paint brush knocking them out.

 

Those are precious ! I have to find some now.

 

They sort of remind me of the pieces we had here in the states that were kind of copper colored metal & were miniature versions of all types of antiques.
