Italian Zanfirico Glass

Picked this up thinking it was a bell. Nothing inside even to suggest it is/was a bell. Nothing rough or broken feeling. Stands 5 1/4" tall and 3 1/2" across the opening. What is it?

 

Okay, just to show I'm paying attention...

A cover for something? Like it was the top of a container?

A snuffer for a gigantic candle?
Maybe a snuffer for a little votive-tea-candle? Just set it over the while thing?

Something to place over something to keep it fresh or safe or captured? Bug, small fruit, nose-gay?

Is the "knob" on top slightly off-kilter (leaning a bit to the right)???

 

Yes, agreed. Plus, the uneven distribution of yellow doesn't help.

 

I've had bells where the clapper was glued in with a little button at the top. This type of clapper often came loose and the owner never glued it back in, since they bought the bell for it's decorative value rather then function

Yep knob is a little tilted.
