Chinese Brass Censer

    Any suggestions on the age? To me it looks like overall good cast but a sloppy Xuande mark. Maybe first few decades of 20th C. ?
    Not sure what caused a damage so it required soldering. There was also a clear protective coat that was peeling off and it was over the solder job as well so I guess they were done at the same time.By the way, how was the censer made? The body and the legs were cast separately and then what ...? Why those holes and what are they filled with?

    The legs are pegged and soldered/brazed into the base. The top "ears" also look the be soldered on.

    Brass looks so new.... Looks like poor people found new, but broken one and fixed it.

    You may be right. But we don't know if the piece was not cleaned at some point. Plus, I guess that clear coating that it had, helped the surface not to get patina and tarnishing.
