Came across this little fella last week, thought he was so cute and lonely that for 5$ i could take him back home, he was intriguing.
He stands 4.75" tall without the wooden base, not sure but he seems carved out of white marble .
No experience with foo dogs and Asian sculpture at all so anyone willing to chime in drop some lines and that would be much appreciated.
I think the wooden base was added afterwards( could be wrong), the top is not finished properly as the sides and underside of the base.
    Not marked in any way.
Also there seems to be what looks like a dragon or boar, upside down under his left Paw.
Tried to capture that with one of the pictures.

Agree, resin. The animal under her paw is her cub, to signify she is female.
Male Foo lions have a brocade ball underneath their paw.

    Hi,
If your foo dog has a puppy under her paw it is a female. if it has a ball under foot it is a male.

Thanks for all your replies, yes he is resin after all, scratch at the bottom a little and that confirms. Still a cute little one.;)

Correct, except it is a cub. Foo dogs are actually Foo lions.;)
