Am I correct to say this is a modern Buddhist Chinese vase featuring chimeras? All sides have the same images. Thanks!

Yes, it’s Chinese and it’s modern. I hope you don’t spent a lot of money on it.

Here's a Chinese piece that I did pay way more than I should have @ $60. Nothing to lose sleep over, but still . . . The seller left it dirty, and I took it for an old Chien-lung original piece. I'm sure you guys would have known right way it was not old. Not a terrible bowl and nice ring to the porcelain, but I'm guessing $10 (if that) retail. Don't blame the seller for making a buck, but I won't do that again!

The mark says it’s “da qing guang xu nian zhi”, but I really doubt it.
I don’t know if this helps, all four figures are very famous military generals in Chinese history. Upper left figure is “ Sun Ce”, upper right is “Ban chao”, lower left “Xiang yu”, lower right “Zhang Zifang”.
I love beautiful pieces, but always think it’s the history and culture behind makes it fascinating.

Well said. Yes, an amazing culture with a rich history. Who is with Zhang Zifang, or is that his alter ego? ;)

I meant to say Guangxu earlier, BTW, not Chien-Lung. I jumped on the auction because on the research sites I had seen modern pieces with blue Guangxu stamps without "CHINA" or MADE IN CHINA," but never ones with red stamps having the 1875-1908 mark without the export words. Here are some pics of the bowl cleaned up:

Actually, Zhang zifang is the shorter guy there.:dead:
He was a strategist and that big guy was at his command to assassinate emperor Qin.
You might want to search “wu shuang pu”.
