Did the Czechs ever make beads like this?

Just wondering as these were sold as Czech. Did they ever do coated glass?

Those are modern faux pearls. Could be Japanese, or Chinese or, or, or! I've got lots of these, bought new in the 90s, big thing then.

 

Thankyou. I thought so. The photo didn't show the pearl effect at all and they were described as Czech and vintage and I don't think they are either!. You would have thought it would be easy to find plain opaque red glass beads but not so!.

 

Hm. I'll have a hoard hunt. Plain red glass, round - what size?

Plain red glass opaque and round and I can use anything up to around 6-10mm but happy to buy any size or shape!. I've got several project necklaces to restring and I can always hoard any spares!
