Anyone have an idea about this neodymium bunny?

At least it looks like a flop-eared bunny to me...

I looked through my copy of the Glass Animals book, and searched around online, but I couldn't find a match. I found a few similar style animals which were IDed as Murano, and a Neodymium site which shows similar pieces by a few different Czech companies. I also know a couple of the US elegant glass companies made this color.

It's about 4" tall and wide, and paperweight-sized at nearly 2 pounds. The crystal appears to be really nice quality - very clear and refractive. Polished base, no marks. Anyone have an idea who might have made it?

Without an actual signature it is almost impossible to ID. Lots of glass animals in Alexandrite were made by Swedish and Danish makers. Konstglas comes to mind as a definate possibility. They were usually marked with just a sticker so it's worth a look.

As a side note. Those who collect Alexandrite would not be too concerned with the maker. If it was signed Zanetti or something, yes.....but for unsigned pieces, which most are, it really doesn't matter. Yours looks to be of nice quality.

Thank you both! I've found similar abstract figurines by all of the companies you mentioned - no matches, unfortunately. I know collectors of this color care primarily about the color (and color shift), but it drives me nuts to list things for sale without knowing the maker. NUTS. :nailbiting:

I was thinking a chubby, short trunked, elephant, but whichever it is I sure do like it.

Actually I believe it is an attempt by a member of a primitive race, such as a human perhaps, to represent the far superior Mondoshawan aliens :greyalien:.

The second picture looked like maybe it's a pear with leaves? But then why no stem?

If it's a flop-eared bunny, don't let it get near that Leroy Neiman print.
