    Greetings learned chums,

Can anyone shed any light on this?

At first I thought it was a rather fancy torpedo bottle, but I am not sure at all!

    It is rather lovely.

It can't stand up on the smaller base.

    It measures 23 cm in length. 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg

    Maybe....
It would be a huge one though and it's quite heavy......

The stand idea is a possibility. I have several perfume bottles with their original stoppers that are polished inside the neck & on the outer surface of the stopper end. So just because it isn't ground inside the neck that doesn't mean that it didn't have a stopper.

It's a lay down perfume bottle missing its stopper.
Appears to be cut glass, which would account for the heaviness.

Not seen a lay down like that before. I don't think it started life in the UK, possibly Bohemian. I suspect lead crystal.

    Might be Heisey.
Very similar to their Old Sandwich pattern.
    Wonder if @Cherryhill might know.
