Need help with identifying this little pot

    Hello everybody!

    Can somebody tell me more about this little pot? It looks pretty old but I can't manage to find any information about it. I hope somebody is able to help me about. Thanks in advance.

    My SWAG would be student piece. It looks pretty crude.

    Descriptors I can think of off the top of my head: lava glaze, fat lava, volcanic glaze, brutalist, mingei.

    It probably is student work, but it sure would help if you could read the name.

    Here's what I think I can make out: B-e-?-?-t-i-?

    Do you get a different read, having it in hand and being able to turn it at different angles to make out the letters?

    Thanks for your reply, it probably says 'bertia' or 'bertid' but i'm not sure.. Thanks for the help

    You didn't mention the size but it looks very small.

    Looks like a child's ceramics project.

    Yes, it's pretty small, about 14cm (5,5")
