    This is so true :)
Although it's lovely to own a beautiful item, without the knowledge that goes with it I don't feel I can appreciate it so much.
I've got some bits that I just keep until I've learned as much as I can about them and then move them on if I don't love them and other pieces I love more because I know their history or the labour and skill that went into making them and will need to be prised out of my mits at the end!.
    Lovely bracelet in amazing condition.

I love Italian micro-mosaic; have a collection of it. Appreciate everyone's comments; well said, very informed. But me thinks it really needs to come to Colorado!

We started this journey of discovery about the same time - you in Sept and me in August 2018. I love that you ask all kind of questions - some I wouldn't even think of - because I have gained a lot of information that way. This piece will be with me until the end, either on my wrist at times or on display. I completely agree about how knowing about something makes it so far more valuable to me.

I've got a few bits of mosaic jewellery. I will dig it out and if it looks interesting I'll start a thread to learn a bit more.
Glad that my ramblings help sometimes. I occasionally worry something I post is not worth people's time to assess but those items are usually the ones that turn into very educational or entertaining threads often with a twist to a totally different subject. The ones I think are exciting are usually tat!
Such a great forum with superbly knowledgeable people that dig deep into the how, why, when and where and not just the 'how much is it worth. Although there are times when I look at some hideous jewellery and the 'why?' Just can't be answered!.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. These are incredible small works of art. So joyous. The first one is like a bridal bouquet of wonderful flowers. And the bracelet with the tiny individual flowers in two colors is so unusual and well crafted and those round buttons set each little garden off. I love the last one the best, as it is seriously complex. So much to see.

I can see why. Velcro you say. One of those brooches would look very good with my bracelet. :):):):):)

    ;)

The buttons are little screw earrings. Age on these varies from the 30s to the 60s - I do tend to grab them whenever I see them.

I was wondering why there were two that matched. The main flower in each is seriously wonderful - such beautiful curves.

The more I look at each of your pieces, the more I can see and love.
