Featured Huge collection of old toy and childs' sewing machines!

Why post it here? I've never seen more than a couple of these together and here's a huge collection of rare ones, some boxed, etc!

Dispensation of a collection...
Somebody spent a long time (and mucho dinero) to acquire and adore them.
I hope some zillionaire buys 'em all. Or maybe a sewing machine museum.

My wallet just spoke to me.....told me to get stupid paws off of it !!

 

I remember that I was given one of these as a Christmas present from my great Aunt sometime in the late 1950s. It looked like the one in lot # 20. There's a picture around here somewhere showing me trying to use it. I wasn't coordinated enough to turn the wheel on the right side and move the fabric through on the left side (at the same time). Don't think I played with it much. My mom likely eventually gave it to charity, because it's gone now.

My great aunt was convinced that all girls needed to know how to stitch and sew. At the time, I didn't really appreciate her efforts (I was the active child who didn't sit still for long). But now, I'm grateful that she tried because if nothing else, it gave me an appreciation for the creative process and thinking about how to get the end product, not to mention for skill of concentration and effort. My great aunt was a school teacher so she knew how to handle little whippersnappers like me!

But I wouldn't bid on one of these machines, one was enough!
