What's this ring for?

    UND was never a party school, but they were a pottery school. You could find a collector for this without much problem.

    The one ball end should unscrew - must be stuck.

    I wrapped in cloth and used pliers. It came undone with a snap sound. It was just severely overtightened.

    Yes. I had a similar key-ring at one time, and it would sometimes get stuck.
