say_it_slowly The worst prison is a closed heart

This guy is orange and I believe is plaster or chalkware. He is about 8½" high and has black painted base. He's wearing a tie but seems to have curly fur and is playing a drum.

When I bought him he seemed very familiar but I couldn't place why and haven't found anything similar. I recall that there was a second figure that was of the type but was damaged so I didn't buy it.

I want to say there is something Beatles about him, maybe because I think Ringo was sometimes shown with this type of face. Sort of beatnik too.

I thought Ringo too but I'm not sure why. Do you know if this character appeared in something?

Does it have a thin slice of cork glued to the bottom? Possibly with a number stamped in ink?
    EDIT:
Never mind. I see you said it's painted black, LOL. :joyful:

Here is a shot of the base but yeah it's got nothing but black paint.

From the neck down he looks a bit like Sid the Sloth.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Maybe it was just somebody's offbeat caricature... the other three probably had silly-looking guitars and similar slouchy/mopey looks. Could have been manufactured as collectibles or maybe it's a one-of.

Doesn't look a thing like Ringo.

i agree, that is my first impression , the Beatles style collar and tie, Ringo's mop top hairdo, and beating on a drum .[IMG]

I sort of remember a cartoon series somewhere that featured the Beatles and maybe what you have is the cartoon figurine of Ringo?
    Just guessing.
