Just wondering if any of you have shipped to China lately and if so, how long did it take to arrive? It's been a while since I shipped there.
I shipped a 1st class package 16 days ago and it left the Miami customs port 14 days ago. There have been no more updates.

Well, not China, but I did ship to Slovakia! That took about 8 days, not including the time it took to get from Massachusetts to the NY USPS facility.

China can be slow or quick. The USPS website will not show any update once it leaves the US.

You probably won't get any more updates with First Class once the package leaves US. I do ship to China with FC but I never track shipments and have no clue how long it takes to get there. But I won't be surprised to be more then a month.
By the way, I used to ship small items to China with Priority Small Flat Rate. Untill I had two claims for undelivered packages. Then, I found out that Flat Rates boxes are basically First Class after they leave US. No tracking, no included insurance, no nothing. That is not Priority.
I would recommend to avoid flat rates and First Class. Any buyer can claim not delivered even if they received the package. No way to tell if that is true or not.
So, what I start doing is, for small items to China I use First Class plus Registered Mail ( comes to like $13 or so extra ). You have to do that in the PO, use the brown tape and paper etc.. But it is much safer and there is tracking.
I hope your package do get in China soon.

Thanks so much everyone for your help and tips. I usually get tracking updates, even with 1st class intl. it always shows me delivered. But I can't remember the last time I've shipped to China, so I guess it's been quite a while. Also, I always insure with Shipsaver, but I completely got side tracked this time and forgot to insure it...:( So I'm really hoping the package arrives soon....sigh.

Mail between the US and Asia seems to have become exceptionally slow in the past year, sporadically at least; normal first-class eight or nine days can become a month.

I've recently (June) ordered from China. Packages were small. They arrived well before I expected, I think under two weeks for each one.

Sometimes Items get on a 'Slow Boat To China".

I understand that shipping from China is very different than shipping to China.
