Hmmm, bout best ah kin do at da momunt is show a few of the electrical disconnect boxes I’ve just mounted that will help get lectrons to the 65 machine tools I’ve installed. Getting the big hobby shop powered up is taking my time these days.

Well, good news is that I won it at auction, bad news is that it sold for 5.3 x high estimate. But I’d done my homework and think it is worth more than I’m paying. Muzzle photo is my current avatar. The muzzle view was all I needed to tell the type and caliber of the full-sized weapon, a Navy 20 pounder Parrott rifle model 1861. The 20 pounder Parrott was the only Parrott with 5-groove rifling. This is an exact 1/5 scale model. I “never” see cannon models with complete, working firing locks (the brass thing) but here is one. I believe this to be an Arsenal model made by or for the US gov’t., quite possibly made at the Washington Navy Yard. No markings tho.

u know all the auction stories where the estimate of an item is $800 - 1000 , & the bidding goes over $ 5000 .... & everyone is like..." Wait , What...? what happened there ?? " ...... well now you are part and parcel of one of those bidding wars.....& we're all waiting to see you standing next to your new gun....with a good story to tell !!!!

Thanks. On something like this I usually do write up a short story with a couple of photos. My short article on “The Cincinnati Gun” was in the last “Artilleryman” magazine along with the patent, a copy of Abe Lincoln’s letter on it, and photos of the working model. If you aren’t familiar with that piece and its background, I can put the article on my Wordpress site 4 u 2 c.
