Trying to indentify this door handle

    There are no numbers, names, or other indicators of manufacturer. The date of manufacture is guessed to be around the 1950's, but it stopped being made long enough ago that a locksmith did not even know a style name for it. If anyone can tell me anything to improve my ability to search for an identical handle I would appreciate the help.
