    Hi,
I picked up these 2 glass gnomes thinking they were Hadeland Glass - they both have Hadeland Norway on the bases and in a Hadeland box with the little brochure so I was surprised when I saw the Made in China label on the box. Are these really Hadeland? Is Hadeland Glass being made in China now?
They are small, 2" & 3" in height.
    Any information appreciated!
    Thanks for looking.

Stunned a reputable company would put "China" on the box but "Norway" on the item itself. Particularly because they seem to play so strongly on their Norwegian woodsy background.

Some folks visited the factory in 2010 and noted this:

"Unfortunately, we discovered that not all the glass they sell is made there - they outsource some of it and we only realized it when Tyler saw one of the boxes said 'Made in China.' Kind of a buzzkill."

Thanks cluttered and khl889! I agree, what a shame.
From the blog it looks like the factory is still there for tours and a museum but I guess the cost to produce glass just got to expensive.

    Hi,
It is horrible all the porcelain companies are being made in China and the East. Lenox china dinnerware is still made here in North Carolina. Wedgwood is being made in China as well as Waterford. They can not complete with workers making 3 dollars a day. I have outlived all the beautiful things that I always admired. Homer Laughlin and Pickard is still being made here but the rest..........................:oops::oops::oops::oops:

Royal Albert has also gone overseas. The stamps/marks on the dinnerware I have seen look almost the same until you look closely and the word England is missing.
Getting hard to keep up with all of this
