I can't identify the maker because I cannot read the line under the word Italy. The piece appears to be porcelain. The fact that it is marked "Hand Made" is an indication of age. The terms "Made by Hand", "Hand-Made", "Hand-Painted", etc, are terms that emerged after the end of World War II (1945) and found mostly on European pieces intended for export to the U.S. The term was meant to accentuate individual artistry and craftsmanship and inferred that they had a superior quality, and therefore a greater value, than mass produced items. It was an advertising gimmick. Almost everything made in Italy before World II was produced by hand and it was not necessary to bring attention to that fact. By the 1970's the term generally fell out favor. Based on style and decor I would say the bowl was produced in, or near, Florence and dates between 1950 and 1970.

Thanks Walter..that is quite an insight..does it look to you of any vintage value worth collecting or such items are rather abundant?thanks

Other than being just a decorative piece that might look nice in the proper decor it has no collector value.
