Can't make out the mark but I guess plated?
Any chance we can figure the maker?
    Thanks

Kardinalisimo, I really like your candle holder but can't help with the mark.

But I did want to say that if I am seeing the details of your candle holder correctly in two of your photos, I "think" I am seeing holly leaves and holly berries intertwining near the base of the holder.

Oh my goodness, wouldn't it be wonderful to use during the Christmas season? ;)

Geez. If the maker was proud of their goods, they should have done a better job of marking them. I could understand "some wear" from polishing, but why would an owner do that much polishing on the underside?

I'm with you on guessing plated - for lack any other evidence.

I did not buy it. The dealer suspects sterling but not sure. If sterling $30 is a good price, if plated not so much.
The mark looks like a standing lion but as you can see it is so hard to tell what it is. Then the "X" and the "1054", not much of a help so far. No traces of "sterling" unless squashed in that circle. Or unless pictorial mark for other kind of silver purity.

Was going to ask. Glad you left it there.

You could make up just about anything out of what little is there. Like I said, no evidence to the contrary.
