WHO MADE THESE - SILVER & GOLD (BRASS?) ORIENTAL MAN & WOMAN FIGURES?

    I found these at a local thrift store today - they are silver or silver colored with a gold(?) strap on each shoulder. Each is carrying - or has around them - birds.
    I am still not sure what they are made of, or what the birds represent, but I did find the initials GA(?) stamped on each one.
    Are these silver or silver plated - or just silver colored?
    Who made these?

    I am not sure who GA is, but this couple is pretty popular, as you can see. The parrots and birds symbolize a Long and Happy Life.
