Oil Still Life

Trying to figure the name of the artist. Any suggestions on the signature? Soley?

Looks like Sóley to me. I find an Icelandic musician with that name. Most likely NOT the same person.

 

Something is strange. The majority of the paint is dry and hard but on some areas there are soft sticky drops(like on the last photo). Don't know what that is and why is there.
Unfortunatelly, Sóley does not bring a lot of results. The other possibility is "56 ley" but I don't think that the piece is that old.

 

I agree it's not likely the musician by that name, but I do think it's "Sóley" - according to her bio this is properly a first name so you may not have much luck tracking this one down. On the other hand, according to sites showing name statistics, there are probably less than 100 people on earth with this name, so if you find an artist among them good chance they did this one. good luck.
