    Newbie from Paw Paw, Mi.

My name is Jim and I'll be 64 in May and been in my house for 28 yrs and a pack rat. My parents are having health issues in N California and considering moving out there. I've been selling piddly little things on FB Market Place and CL.
I have several items that are old and I'd like some info and value on. Soon I'll be posting about an old construction hat and my prize possession an antique twin brass bed. I did a search and didn't find anything hits on brass beds on this forum ... at least not the 1st 2 pages after a search in the Furniture section???

I've been involved with the Malibu Boat forum since 2002 and a moderator. Also I'm a moderator of a large stereo FB group and a local FB Market Place group.

My interest is waterskiing, music, gardening.

Thanks for having me and thanks for the help on the piano stool I asked about. I listed it yesterday on seversl local FB groups and sold in a couple of hours - Jim

I want to make sure I'm not breaking any rules. I know there are no sales here but it is ok to ask opinions on value ... right??

    Thx - Jim

    Welcome to the forums!

I don't see any problems in asking for valuations although I suggest remembering that many of us here are hesitant to speculate on item valuations we are not overly familiar with.

    This forum has a section called the "marketplace" where you can market your items or place links to your listings. See link below;

    Sell

Welcome to the Forum, Jim! :)

People will usually try to find comparables if they can, considering it depends on your location.

Thanks for all the replies and I'm certainly a big Ebay user and I know there can be a huge difference in asking price and sold price. 1st thing is to find the make and model of an item I have.

Honestly eBay is the first place many certified appraisers look according to a few friends who are in the business. By no means a perfect resource for pricing but one of the best free tools out there that covers basically everything you can think of.

Yeah if only their search engine didn't include so much other stuff in a search!

Depending on what you are asking about, some of us don't have a problem telling you what we would price an item at in our area. Others are reluctant to do so.

Never hurts to ask. Although in some cases you may not get an answer.

    Welcome to our board.
I think you'll like it here.
