My aunt either found or bought this plate recently. For the life of me, I can't find the makers mark anywhere online. I can find some similar ones but they are either a different color or have a different letter on them. FB_IMG_1473177296810.jpg FB_IMG_1473177292763.jpg I'm hoping one of you can help. Please and thank you.

more that likely the plate was blank and a hobbyist hand painted it.

Hi JenniferWaltering - This type of design was very common on Japan produced china particularly during the period between the wars. Noritake's Tree in the Meadow is a good example. As these were hand painted, variations can be expected and different details can be featured. Sometimes there are swans, sometimes houses, sometimes windmills etc. but the colors and basic designs were roughly consistent. Marks are not terribly important for this type of wear unless it is of exceptional quality. Frankly, identifying the manufacturer of this plate (or bowl) will not make much, if any, difference in the value. It is a pretty item but out of fashion at the moment. Many records for Japanese companies were destroyed during WWII so we may never know who was behind some of these marks. Just for future reference it is helpful for us to see the entire piece. Without seeing the edges I can't tell whether it's a plate, a basket, or a bowl and the mold details can sometimes provide other clues. . Also please provide measurements. This can be very helpful in identifying usage I'm looking forward to seeing more of your items.
    Don
