Recent GW purchase, they seem very finely made. That's what caught my eye in the sea of used glass, mugs. Noticing the quality, I turned one over and saw the familiar "Baccarat" stamp.

But now a question, the familiar "Baccarat France" etching is followed by the word "Special".

Thoughts? I wondered if they might be fake, but in the hand these feel like genuine quality glasses.

I can not find this stamp under fakes, authentic, etc.

Anyone familiar w/Baccarat? Are these authentic? They are feather light and they feel like nice glass, but open to thoughts! Thank you!

I can't find anyplace that mentions the word SPECIAL added to a baccarat mark. I wonder if it might not be the way they marked a "Special Order" done for a particular company or person.

Here is a listing that says it is a special order but the sticker says Special Affair. In the description the seller says this was a special order - the mark itself is the normal mark though

Do a search on Replacements using "Baccarat Champagne Plain" as your key words.
I saw several that may match yours, but it is easier to be sure when you have a stem in your hand.

    Thanks everyone!

Perhaps a special order. I just scanned replacements, thanks for that suggestion Peggy. It is late, so tomorrow will go back and check with the glass in my hand. Good suggestion.

Thank you for the links Bdigger and Cx.

I appreciate the help with these.
