Wife ordered $1500. Worth of vintage merchandise from a midwestern female vendor I'd dealt with in person for decades. 2weeks, no delivery, vendor did return call promising to ship next day. Two more weeks, nothing. Wife called her again 4 days ago leaving voicemail asking for tracking info; no callback. Asked for advice from vendor local BBB which said a complaint to them would have no affect since biz in question already carried an "F" rating for failing to respond to customers. I emailed and called vendor (left recording again, she never answers phone.). I encouraged her in friendly manner, using "friend" a few times since we've been acquainted for decades, but no response yet. Wife does not have time or desire to nag people repeatedly, but She would be ok with contacting 3rd parties, filing papers, or whatever. WWYD?

You check with every 3rd party you know to make sure the midwestern female is not in some kind of mortal or major distress ......it can happen.

Then if you can find no evidence that she's dead, sick, or set upon by some natural disaster.....bring the rain !!!!

Local cops, State cops, inform them all.
Google street view her......track her movements, call her neighbours....family ....her dawg !!!

    $ 1500 smackers.....that doesn't go unnoticed ......I'd smack her !!!

There are stories,.... but I was involved with an ebay gal once....lots of business, sell, sell sell, ...until one day ....she kept selling but stopped shipping.....many folks got caught up in her lack of communication......and she faded away into the mist ....with lots of folks money.

In your line of work you could literally park your tank on her lawn.

Might cost you that much in gas to get there, though. :)

I believe that if you used the Postal system in some way, it's a Federal claim.
Of course she may have died.

Hope the person is okay, but the F rating is worrisome.

If by any chance your wife paid by Paypal or credit card, she may have some recourse.

    Sorry this happened.

I don't know if its the same where you live but here in the UK if you pay by credit card then you can go to the bank and raise a dispute, You should be covered for the full amount, Hopefully it won't come to that.

You could sue in small claims court but that would have to be in jurisdiction of the vendor and may not be worth the effort. The police will say this is a civil matter and do nothing and the BBB has no real power. If you used a credit card is a chargeback possible?

    Hi,
The Post Office will not get involved for less than 10,000.00 dollars. I had a dispute with a vendor for 800 bucks. Contacted the PO and was told if less than 10K they do not get involved. I contacted the local police and in three days they had my money returned. Check with your local police to see if they have an internet fraud department.

Assuming she has not had some terrible emergency or illness, I would keep trying to get in touch one way or the other.
How did you pay? If by credit card, contact your bank or payment processor and tell them about this and see if they can go after her and get your money back.

If with PayPal do a chargeback for non delivery.

I hope it works out for you.

she shouldn't have to - if the seller isn't shipping or replying to messages left it is time to get your money back.
If paid with credit card or paypal, start the chargeback route - that might kickstart her into gear to either ship your order or cheerfully refund your money in full with an apology.
Hope it works out in your favour.

Amen - check just in case she was caught in some kind of meteorological or medical disaster, and then if not bring out some big guns. A howitzer or the legal equivalent ought to do.

I'm putting this on all of the gun and ammo-related forums in the world:

Warning: An ammo components vendor trading under name "River Valley Ordnance Works" ripped my company off for $1500. We paid in full but nothing was delivered; calls and emails aren't answered. Saint Charles County BBB reports an "F" rating for failing to respond to the many customer complaints and online reviews are the worst I've ever seen. Legal avenues in MO are being pursued to recover money. If they ripped you off too, begin by filing a complaint online with the Attorney General of Missouri.

That might shake something loose if they're legit. If not it won't hurt.

I aim to end their ability to pose as a legitimate business while screwing people like us. The warning is going to their landlords at two locations, gun show promoters they rent space from, and everyone in the business I can think of. "Don't get mad, get even!"

I posted the warning on a number of Facebook pages and people are sharing it widely, which is good. I'll go thru the Missouri AG process but I'm sure the money is gone for good, but the warning may save someone else from the same fate. As a practical matter, this is just one of many of the costs of doing business, and if you don't lose some money today, you will lose some tomorrow. You can work to minimize such costs but you can't eliminate them .

    No Terry.......that's getting refunded....

Getting even is having them endure the same loss and or discomfort that they inflicted on you !!

An eye for an eye , is getting even.
an eye for ....oh !! I get my eye back ......is not getting even !

If you shoot me in the elbow and I shoot you in the knee, my elbow feels no better. Not even. Even is getting back to an unshot arm.
