Haven't had a whiskey sour since the 60's. Ewwwwwww. It shocked me a couple years ago when my son developed a taste for Manhattans. Only occasionally, thank goodness.

The other choice for a before Sunday dinner quaff was a daiquiri. Not the frozen kind, but my grandmother's favorite. Too sweet for me.

Have to look back and see how this dry discussion became spirited.

I am afraid I must apologize (again) for dragging a sensible and serious discussion into the realm of the nonsensical and frivolous.

But I MUST say that it is refreshing to be reprimanded with witty word play!

    Mea Culpa............

If you can get a judgement against her in small claims court and she still fails to pay, you can put a lien on anything she owns including that building she is trying to sell. In Massachusetts, if she still doesn't pay, you can force a sale of property to pay her judgement so it might be the same where you are. Property could even be personal items. It would be worth a try.

I like that... lien on the sale. You might even be able to get extra out of small claims for legal fees and a stupidity tax as I call it.

When you sue in small claims court, you ask for your damages and all expenses. If you win, the court awards filing fees, postage and any other expenses incurred to try and collect.

I don't know if this still applies or not. Way back when, I worked part-time in a law firm when I was in college. I had to make sure all the paper work was in order to initiate an arrest warrant for non payment of a judgement. I forget how many attempts and what period of time had to pass before an arrest was an option. So besides the lien, you may be able to get her arrested if she doesn't pay.

Thanks, have filed with MO atty general who asked for 30 days to work the case, so I'll see what they can do. Also filed a theft report with her local police dept. I let both her landlords know about her malfeasance and posted a warning about her on many Facebook sites potential customers use. If I still need to do small claims I'll have someone in her area rep me there, but I think the att. Gen. can get something done particularly since they've had previous cases regarding her biz.

Unbelievably, the proprietress finally called, rather upset that I had called one particular landlord, why did I do that, she has nothing to do with her business, blah blah blaaah. Well you just never know what's going to get their attention, so I was using the whole bag of tricks. She promises tracking number. When Wife finally gets the stuff we'll undo such actions as we feel should be reversed.

Even if she does cough up, odds are at least some of what you stirred up won't quiet back down. She picked the wrong anthill to kick; this one had fire ants in it.
