I guess a hobbyist decoration rather than the manufacturer?
I read that there are many copies. Does this one look authentic to you?
    Thanks

How old is "authentic" supposed to be? Doesn't look very old to me.

Agreed, the crock looks relatively new

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I looked at what's on eBay.....obviously the flowers are added and not old, as stated by the seller. From what I can see, it does look, TO ME, to be around a 1900 crock....they went out of business in about 1903. I questioned the stenciling......looking closer in Photoshop....it does look like it's under a glaze.....that being said, it also does look to be fairly "crisp" if that describes it correctly?? The general coloring of the crock also makes me wonder the age as well. I wasn't sure if you saw that the seller pointed out the vertical hairline crack on the outside that they feel does not go through.....I have no clue, but wanted to be sure you saw it. Posted enlargements of my questions......It's a cute crock if you don't care about questioning the age!!!!!

Not much base wear and the crack really doesn't add anything to help age it.

My observations are in line with coreya. Crocks form the early 1900's were utilitarian and used regularly, so the bottoms generally show wear and at least some "grunge"

The crock looks legit to me, but the flowers would have to go.

Crocker Farms might be able to shed some light on the age of the crock. If old, get rid of the decoration, if new I'd leave it.
