It is called a Noritake tea set. What exactly is it you want to know, as that answer is too easy.

What it’s called, year it came from and maybe what it’s worth?

The mark was registered in 1908. In 1922, they said it had to include country of origin in English (or both?) The pattern? Not so forthcoming....

Very few - and I stress VERY FEW - Japanese china designs have an official "pattern name." You need to abandon the 20th century American naming bias. ;)

I take it there’s not much demand or value in this particular set?

I did not say that - and or anything like that. Just because the Japanese makers rarely "named" designs has no bearing whatsoever on value or collector interest.

It is pretty and a set. Most likely made in the 40s. I'm sure someone would love to have it.

    Welcome Andyjp1!
Replacements Ltd. has an excellent on-line resource for IDing a lot of patterns. Just search Noritake. https://www.replacements.com/china/n.htm I would have done it for you but there are 94 pages of results. BTW, don't try to value yours by their prices, unless you are looking for insurance replacement quotes only. Good luck!

    Thanks!

To be honest I’ve got a load of antique stuff which I don’t know what to do with! I’ve got the task of selling it on but don’t want to get ripped of either!

It's a club! That's why I'm here too, with an occasional savant moment where I might actually know an answer.

You can sometimes narrow down those 94 pages by adding descriptive words such as the words black, pink roses & gold trim.:happy:
