Whodunnit? 12" glass pitcher with diamond and logs? motif

    I have this pressed 12" pitcher that has 2 rows of diamonds and 2 rows of angled "logs" (about the best I know to describe them) in between them. Very heavy with seed bubbles through out the glass. Under a blacklight it is green on the rim edged and thicker parts of the glass such as the handle and base. Any help with ID would be appreciated. Thank you. I have several pictures as it was difficult to get a good picture of the pattern.[​IMG]

    Great ID, TallCakes!

    I'm curious, does the green (when shown under black light) date things in general?

    Manganese was widely used to increase clarity in glass during the U.S. civil war, as lead was diverted to ammunitions. Clarifying agents started to change at the time of WWI as manganese was difficult to obtain. Manganese is what causes this glass to turn purple when overexposed to UV rays and also glow green-yellow under black light. So the glow may be an indicator of age when comparing reproductions. However, newer glass does also contain manganese; so it's not a definitive indication of age. For example, Fostoria used manganese in their crystal 'Coin' pattern.

    IMHO the green (from black light) is from calcium in the glass, one of the main ingredients in lime glass.
