Old silver hookah

Good afternoon. I found this silver hookah in Afghanistan.
Weight: ~7 kg
~85 cm long
Width: 50 cm
Material: silver
How old is this thing? What is your opinion?

 

It is beautiful, and looks Afghan made too. I would say late 19th century, but let's wait for the others.

My opinion? This totally kicks ass! Fantastic!

 

If it is silver or silver plate, then it would have a maker mark. Show an in focus closeup photo of that so we can narrow down the maker and possibly a price for you. If there is no mark, it is more likely not silver.

If you do not wish to clean the item, then select an obscure section of the surface and clean only that section, there are numerous methods for testing silver which can then be performed on the cleaned surface.

 

I didn’t find any mark on this. But I cleaned some place.

 

You are not likely to, none of my Afghani silver is marked in any way, but it tests as silver.

 

Now that is what I call a hookah.
