What a find , ye old pub,

    That's a rare find: 200-year-old pub unearthed in busy city complete with untouched bottles of brandy
    • Archaeologists excavated the site ahead of construction of a skyscraper
    • They discovered a pub called the Astleys Arms that dates back to 1821
    • They unearthed plates and mugs that bore the name of the former landlord
    • The descendants of the pub's landlord Thomas Evans now live in Texas

    Hope they put the Artifacts they found in a local Museum,

    What a wonderful piece of local social history,

    Think its a shame there continued with the building project ,

    That's VERY neat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wonder if the vault was empty?? And why was it all just buried over???:woot::woot:

    Think that's what they did in them days good job they did or that part of history would be lost for Ever now ,
