Asian Basket ID

    I picked this basket up a few years ago from an individual who purchased it many years ago in China. It appears to have some age to it and I wonder if it is Chinese or perhaps Japanese. The basket also has some sort of parchment paper lining the lid and the inside. Any ideas to the age and origin? Thanks for the help.

    Any ideas as to how how old it might be? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a basket lined.

    I would say it is a typical Chinese form, often used to transport food. But Asian bamboo baskets are frequently difficult to distinguish.
