Can anyone make this signature out? It is about 15x15 and frame looks to have some age to it. Hope pictures are good enough. Looks like first 3 letters are CrS. TIA for all your help.

Here are some more pictures of the painting, I noticed the other ones were very blurry. I decided I would take the back off and this is what I found, a piece of wood. Nails look rusty so I'm afraid to take out afraid it wont go back in frame right. Any suggestions on signature. TIA Thanks Bev I tried Sarah too didn't find nothing.

    Hi,
I would take it out of the frame. That wooden backing will eat through and ruin the canvas. I would reuse the back but give it a thick coating of varnish. Or place a piece of archival paper between the wood and the canvas.

I see something like S. Purachi. The first part is co-joined letters S and something else (maybe even 2 something elses).

Thanks Greg and verybrad! Greg I'm afraid to pull nails out of frame fear of busting frame. I agree that wood really needs to go. And as for that signature it's just another one I will never know. Does the frame look like it has age to it?

    Hi,
I have pulled out nails in frames that were falling apart. Just grab them with small pliers and wiggle them slightly and pull slowly.
