    I purchased this jar at auction (no lid) a while back and would like to know if it has any age to it and whether or not it's Chinese/Japanese. Also, is that a phoenix or pheasant?     Well it is Chinese, paintwork is a bit odd IMO so thinking 20thc but have not had a piece like this so can't say when exactly ...not earlier though.
