Another old time cartoon/comic strip character

    Bev aka thelmasstuff Colored pencil artist extraordinaire ;)

    I have been trying to ID this guy for a few years. Newsboy type hat, patch on the knee of his pants. He looks so familiar and yet I can't find him. It's a rubber stamp that was probably on a wooden back. I'm sure it belonged to my older brother who was born in 1939, but he's gone so I can't ask him.

    I think he was a cartoon character newsboy, his name may have been "Patches" but I cannot remember. I think this strip ran in the 1950s in the newspaper USA.

    It is difficult to tell if it's the same guy, in reverse for a printing block!

    Please wait and let some other people weigh in on who it could be..
