Heh, must have been retailed by Montgomery Ward - seem to recall that trademark as circa 1960s...

Thank you very much, Did they hand make boxes as one of a kind or mass produce them?

It would have been mass produced, pics aren't clear enough on my phone for me to tell, but the flowers may have been hand painted on the lacquer finish - if there's a little hole in the floor of that center opening, it probably had a little plastic dancing ballerina...

I remember these! There should be a small ballerina in the center, in front of the mirrors.

I wish, the box only plays music and holds jewelry there's no signs that a ballerina should've been present.

there's no ballerina to it, all it does is play the cute little tunes and hold my jewelry

If there is no hole in the floor of the mirrored section, then it would have originally had a plastic ballerina that moved around magnetically...

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Welcome to Antiquers, @Ckyane bernard --

I don't see any parts that need to be fixed, but do notice that on YouTube there are some videos showing restoration of old jewelry boxes. So depending on what needs to be repaired, you might be able to do it yourself.

The paint job is a different thing, though. I don't know if you want to just touch up the chipped paint, or repaint the entire thing? I don't know what kind of paint is originally on it, nor how to remove it, etc.

I know there are some members who know more about that kind of thing. If you would say whether you want a touch-up, or to repaint the whole thing, I'm going to tag some people who commented in a recent thread in the Furniture forum.

I know there are others, too, who would have ideas.

Can't help until I know what needs fixed. Looks like some screws that hold the music box in place are missing.

I would use a damp cloth to wipe any dirt or grime off.

If it is the music box that isn't working, that can be replaced.
There is a music box store along Hwy 49 in CA. They have helped me with replacement parts.

You may have a music box store where you are.

Of the 3 drawers on the left, suspect the middle & bottom ones should switch places so paint job will be symmetrical with other side instead of looking like painter made a mistake. I also think there was a figure that danced in front of those mirrors.

It looks to be in fine condition to me. Do you have detail shots of areas in questions. I always touch up v repainting when possible. I take a conservation approach to most of my work, but that may not apply to something of this nature.
